ADOPTABLE CATS

GEORGIA

Georgia was found laying in my sisters driveway. She was noticeably young with a very swollen belly.

After she scooped her up and brought her to me, I was almost certain she was pregnant.

We found out at her first vet appointment that she wasn’t pregnant. She was going through a false pregnancy.

We made her an appointment to be spayed asap, worried that she was entering the early stages of pyometria. After her spay I brought her back home and she’s been waiting here for her forever family since!

Georgia is the “innocent little girl” of our group. She’s so gentle, quiet, and wants to be on good terms with everybody she meets. She loves the company of other cats and would thrive in a house with another cat or two.

HERMONIE

I trapped Hermonie and her litter of kittens in a trailer park back in June 2023.

A wonderful rescue offered to take on the care of her babies and I planned on getting Hermonie fixed, then releasing her back into the neighborhood because she was feral… or at least I thought.

When I got her home and opened the trap door, she tiptoed out and immediately started rubbing on my hands to be pet. Obviously she was loved by someone somewhere in the past. I decided she’d stay here with us until I found a family that would love her FOREVER.

Hermonie would do best in a calm house with other cats and/or small dogs to socialize with. She feels 100% more confident having another critter around.

She gets scared and hides from loud noises, and people moving around her too fast tends to frighten her. When you sit on the couch she’ll tiptoe up to you for cuddles.

DANA

Dana belonged to another small rescue here in Picayune. When the founder of that rescue passed away from cancer, she was surrendered to another rescue, then ended up in the city shelter. My heart broke for her, so I decided to bring her home until someone came forward ready to bring her home and love her forever.

Estimated Age: 6- 7 years

Dana’s perfect. She meows back when you talk to her. If you’re sitting on the couch she’ll crawl behind you and rub her head on yours, or start making biscuits in your hair. She just wants to sit on your lap all day & night!

When she’s settled down on her bed or the couch and another cat or dog walks by she’ll occasionally throw a little slap, which can be alarming to some animals, but 9 times out of 10 she just minds her business and coexists around the house. She’s more focused on the people that live there.

VIVIAN

I stopped to feed Vivian in a gas station parking lot on my way to work one morning. We were right next to a busy road, and without any equipment, so trying to grab her wasn't the right move.

A few days later I went back with a cat trap and almost instantly caught her. She was so hungry, she walked right into the trap. An employee from the hotel behind the gas station knew who she was. She told me Vivian stopped by pretty frequently and had just given birth to a litter of kittens that were brought to the shelter.

I brought her home and got her set up in a large dog crate in my bedroom. A week or two went by before I could even touch her. She would run and hide into her little house every time I walked into the room.

Everyday I would sit in front of the kennel talking to her and tossing treats.

After a few weeks, all of the time I spent saying “let me love you, just let me love you” paid off and before I knew it she started sleeping on my bed next to me and running to my door when I opened it.

SASHA

Sasha was found walking down the street alone as a little kitten. She was skinny, covered in ringworm, and had snot coming from her nostrils. After bringing her to my vet and getting her diagnosed with a upper respiratory infection I brought her home and quarantined her in my bathroom until she recovered.

After two weeks of warm medicated bathes and antibiotics she transformed into the most beautiful, playful, and confident little kitten to ever exist!
